Removable Wall Decals
& Large Fabric Wall Stickers
Being a Mod Mom with a desire for GOOD design, highly appreciative of (multi)functional products, and a flair for laughter and fun, I was at a loss of what to do in my little girl’s very first room of her own! Scouting the world wide web for days in search of the ultimate nursery décor produced nothing awesome. Nothing extraordinary. Nothing fun. And nothing funky.
I already imagined the headlines: "Designer Mom’s first child goes bare naked against the walls!" It was quite the predicament! Nothing fit this mom’s dream just right. Too small. Too blah. Too nothing. Too ordinary.
I believe in impact. And to make an impression, size can definitely help! I had walls – FOUR BIG ONES - staring at me. I just knew that to create the fabulous design experience I imagined, I needed: – funky and fun designs which was playful and cheery and COLO(U)RFUL – a design flexible to grow with her – and, of course, all encompassing design BIG enough to truly create an immersive environment I like to call it my PICTURE POETRY. Experiencing design as an opportunity for expression and exploration – something every kid deserves.
So, this Mod Mom decided to take action and imagineer the ideal dream for experience-design. It was a massive hit.

Luxury Baby Comfort-Wear
Siblings Meryl and Brian Levy are the dynamic duo behind the luxury baby comfort-wear brand, Jammies prêt-à-porter. The concept was originally conceived by their father in the 1980’s, when he would gift pajamas in a jar to friends and family who were expecting. Little did their family realize that years later, Meryl and Brian would adapt the idea into a more refined, modern concept: they call their Jammies "comfort wear" and have designed them to be sported inside or outside, day or night.
Growing up, Meryl loved babies and baby clothing. She started babysitting for all the neighborhood kids at the age of 10. When Meryl was 12, she and Brian were blessed with a new baby brother. Meryl was thrilled to welcome a baby into the family and spent all of her babysitting money on clothes for the new addition. As a young adult, Meryl developed a love for fashion and worked for a women’s accessories designer, running the retail store and wholesale showroom in New York. She then worked in event production on large-scale events such as NY Fashion Week and Miami Swim.
Brian has loved drawing since he could hold a crayon. It’s no surprise that he ended up taking many art classes in college, while studying journalism and French. After developing a foundation in the fashion industry with a job at the press office of Christian Louboutin, Brian pursued his culinary interests and worked in various kitchens and farms in New York, France and Spain. Upon his return to the States, he enrolled in the graduate architecture program at Berkeley, then Yale. Brian’s experiences led to the realization that his true love lies with clothing design.
With their combined experiences and skill sets, it felt natural for Meryl and Brian to join forces and create something meaningful. Taking a cue from their dad’s small idea, developing Jammies into a brand felt like the right step. Both Meryl and Brian love to travel and admire the style and sophistication of European baby clothing, which can be seen in the Jammies craftsmanship and fabrics.
Accessories for Boys & Girls
hello shiso is a small design studio and workshop based in Berkeley, California, making accessories for boys and girls and sometimes their parents. We love creating well-made, modern designs with fun details and we suspect that grown-ups secretly buy our goods for themselves! (Don't be embarrassed - that's what we intended!)
Mimi Tsang, the designer behind hello shiso, understood from an early age that the right accessory can make an outfit. Thanks to a mom who had her own obsession with accessories, Mimi grew up with perfectly coiffed hair and fond memories of her favorite hair clips. hello shiso was born in 2010 when Mimi decided to make her own accessories in her backyard studio with the hopes of creating lasting memories for other little girls.
"Shiso" is the nickname I was finally given in my late twenties, after a lifetime of unsuccessfully begging friends for a nickname. "Shiso" is actually an herb used in Asian cooking, but you can't be too choosy with your nickname when your friends are Asian nerds.
Those kids are mine, and they'll do all kinds of silly things when there's candy at stake. hello shiso is a real family business, and most of my famiy members are on the (candy) payroll.
No, though they love to help. I used to make all the hair clips myself in my studio, but as the business has grown, I've had to find some help. I have been lucky to enlist three sisters in Taiwan who have been family friends for over 15 years to help me with production. The work they do for hello shiso helps them support their own families, and I love working with people I know and trust.
Yes! We have tutorials on our blog, along with updates on our business. Follow along on the blog to see what hello shiso is up to!
Bedding Collections
Sister team and interior enthusiasts Gen & Cristina Burgess founded their baby and child lifestyle brand Auggie in 2011, based on the belief that childhood should be filled with coziness, comfort and color. Tucked away in their Toronto design office the duo has managed to gain a loyal following across the US and Europe.
With their bedding collections, Gen & Cristina promote mixing & matching throughout the collection. Soft palettes, bright accents and fun prints all work together allowing the customer to be their own designer and to create the look they want.
Moving into sleepwear was a natural progression for the brand. Cosy cotton pjs in fun prints are favorites among kids and parents alike. Look for more prints and colors and a surprise collaboration in the coming months…
“All our designs aim to inspire the Danish concept of Hygge, who put a great deal of effort into creating that cozy, comfy atmosphere in their own homes.” Cristina Burgess
Unique wooden puzzles that
encourage children to use
both sides of their brain.
Vicki Hyde Lewis has loved creating art ever since she can remember. As a child, her parents encouraged her to use her artistic talent and supplied her with all the supplies she wanted. She tries to do the same now for her own children so they can create freely.
Vicki graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art with an art education emphasis. Along with her love of designing puzzles, she enjoys painting portraits, illustration and painting nesting dolls. She also teaches summer art classes.
She loves being able to stay home with her four children while continuing to pursue her career as an artist. Often her children will be drawing at the table next to her, or on her lap while she works.
Her husband Jake, balances out her creative side by providing a background in accounting and finance. Together they make a great team. Their kids are constantly helping come up with new ideas for future Flipzles designs and make a great toy testing department. Even though Vicki designed the puzzles, her kids are faster at solving them. They are proud to be a small family run company making toys that foster creativity and problem solving.
